With the opening of the Center for Digitalization and Digitality (ZDD) in April 2025, Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences has created a forward-looking hub. Spread across four floors and approximately 3,000 m², the center fosters an environment that uniquely combines creativity, research, and teaching. Here, application-oriented solutions and new study programs are developed – ranging from Data Science and Artificial Intelligence to Digital Health and sustainable energy concepts.
The architectural concept integrates open lounges, laboratories, workshops, as well as exhibition and conference areas into a dynamic spatial framework that encourages creativity, collaboration, and knowledge transfer. At its core is a teaching, learning, and research culture that embraces innovation.
System 180 supports this vision with modular and mobile furnishing solutions that offer maximum design flexibility. Whether for collaborative work, focused project tasks, or interactive teaching formats, the products can be quickly and precisely adapted to new requirements. This creates an environment that not only responds to current needs but also anticipates future developments.
The ZDD thus becomes a vibrant hub for ideas, start-ups, research projects, and pioneering approaches to higher education. Open structures, flexible spaces, and furnishings designed with change in mind – a prime example of the synergy between space, design, and innovation.
